Spring cleaning and redecorating go hand in hand. As you clean and make your home fresh, it's a perfect time to add decorating touches that give your mood a lift and make your home fit for the season.

Add Color
Cotton throws and throw pillows in light patterns or colors will enhance your décor. A light shade of green will go with most decorating schemes. Consider white, light green, pink, blue or floral patterns. Or choose a bright pop of color like coral.

Lighten Up Your Windows
Do the curtains look heavy? Maybe this is the time to try the bare window look in rooms where privacy isn't important. Or remove the curtains and put a valance on the curtain rod instead. Another option is white, curtains that will flutter in the breeze from open windows.

And while you're at the windows, before hanging anything, give those windows a good cleaning inside and out. A solution of 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1/2 cup water, and 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle works as well as commercial cleaners and has the added benefit of being inexpensive and safe. You can also use the solution to make your mirrors and the glass in picture frames sparkling clean.

Outdoor Inspiration
Flowers are synonymous with the season. Whether printed on napkins and table linens, dishtowels or curtains, or fresh from the florist or your garden. Little bouquets in unexpected places will bring a smile to your face every time you see them, whether they are on the bathroom counter, a bedside table, or the kitchen windowsill.

Don't neglect to clean the front door, porch and patio. Dress up your front door by hanging a pretty wreath or adding some pots with flowers or plants.
